Doctor Vivian M. Geter is a native of Sumter, SC. She is the mother of two adult sons, Craig and Coby Geter, each of whom have been instrumental to her life story, and supported her along her journey.
She attended Benedict College, Columbia, SC, where she received her BA degree in Social Studies. She later enrolled at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC, where she earned a Masters Degree in Behavioral Emotional Disorders, May of 1997. This dynamic Woman of God taught for twenty-one years in Sumter, South Carolina Public School System and nineteen years in Durham Public School System. She retired in 2010 after forty years of professional service. Additionally, she has worked for an Adult Educational program through the federal government, Homebound, and tutoring programs.
Soon after, in June of 2010, Doctor Geter obeyed the plan of God for her life and started the Anointed Women Ministerial Training Team (AWMTT), a non-profit 501©3 outreach ministry supported by individuals and small organizations. The Day-by-Day Prayer Line, the Children of Purpose (COP), and the 'Golden Saints' Seniors Outreach Ministry are under the umbrella of AWMTT Ministry. The ministry has extended from local to national and international connections through the power of faith, prayer, and obedience.
In 2017, Doctor Geter obtained her Masters of Divinity Degree from Shaw University Divinity School, Raleigh, NC. She not only has a passion for learning, but she also has a strong desire and dedication for teaching and training others. She became an Executive Board Member for Bridges Pointe, Inc., in 2019 where she serves as Chaplin for the organization.
Doctor Geter is licensed and ordained to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was nominated by the AWMTT Day-by-Day Prayer Line for an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity in September of 2023. Her foundational scripture is Philippians 1:6 (KJV) “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Her ministerial gift has allowed her to preach in Grande, Bahamas; New York City; The Poconos; South Carolina; and several local churches in North Carolina. Doctor Geter’s hobbies include: traveling, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends. She has done local, national and international traveling.
In 2020 her outstanding reading and writing skills enabled her to join with eight other writers from the Prayer Line to compose and publish a book titled 'Rising with the Son: Day by Day'. This book has been a blessing to so many people and has encouraged more of God's people to join the daily Prayer Line. In 2022, the team grew and eighty one Prayer Warriors collaborated to write and publish the second book titled ‘Look What the Lord Has Done’. Both books are available for purchase on Amazon.
The overall vision of AWMTT is to encourage, support, and create a platform of preparedness for those who are called to the Ministry of Jesus Christ. AWMTT has several annual programs including the Anniversary Celebration, Thanksgiving Feast, and Christmas Fellowship. The Ministry of AWMTT serves through the Children of Purpose team and offers two student scholarships yearly. The Golden Saints group also falls under the umbrella of the Ministry and works throughout the year to recognize the elderly with gifts inspired by the Holidays.
The ministry accepts donations from individuals and organizations. Monetary seeds that are sown into the Ministry are returned to our local communities, to support the growth and development of God's people.
Doctor Vivian M. Geter and AWMTT Ministry are grateful for all of the love, support, and commitment provided, as we all continue to serve others.
